304/304L Stainless Steel Plate

304/304L stainless steel grade is one of the most popular used stainless steel, for 304 it also has other manufacture methods, 304H, 304N, 304LN. All grades shows good low temperature properties and cold working while hardening. Considering its good corrosion resistance and heat resistance property, it is used in tanks and containers for storage of corrosive fluid and gases. Other Applications include chemical industry, mining process equipment, food industry and pharmaceutical industries. It's more than 20 years since we entered into the field of seamless tube, Our tubes are widely used for Power Industry and Petrochemical Industry, such as steam boiler, steam condenser, liquid-transportation, heat exchanger etc. ANSON supplies 304/304L stainless steel plates and 304/304L stainless steel tubes in ASTM A240 standard or according to customer requirements.

  • Annealing: Heat from 1010oC to 1120oC and cool rapidly in air or water.The best corrosion resistance is obtained when the final annealing is above 1070oC and cooling is rapid.
  • Stress relieving: 304L can be stress relieved at 450-600oC for one hour with little danger of sensitisation. A lower stress relieving temperature of 400oC maximum must be used.
  • Hot working: Initial forging and pressing: 1150to 1260oC
    Finishing temperature: 900 to 925oC
  • Cold Working: 304 / 304L being extremely tough and ductile, are readily fabricated by old working.Typical operations include bending, forming, deep drawing and upsetting.
  •  Weldability:Can be brazed and welded using common methods. Grain-boundary carbide precipitation can occur in heat-affected zones (HAZ). Annealing will restore corrosion resistance to the weldment.
